Jobless Khama Billiat, Kuda Mahachi set to play for Dynamos

Highly-rated but redundant former Warriors stars Khama Billiat and Kuda Mahachi are almost set to feature for Dynamos as the Zimbabwe premiership giants try to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2024 football season and also shore up their bid for CAF Confederation Cup glory.
Reports say Dembare have agreed terms with the attacking duo.
Billiat has not kicked a ball since his messy break-up with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs June last year when his contract expired.
Subsequent efforts by his former paymasters to retain his services on a reduced salary failed after the former South African footballer of the year turned down the offer.
He has struggled to find a new club since then with equally failed attempts to join South African sides SuperSport United, Cape Town City, and Richards Bay.
To end his nightmares, the 33-year-old former Aces Youth Soccer Academy protégé has been linked to Dynamos amid reports he was heading for Harare this Thursday to ink a deal with the Glamour Boys.
The Harare giants, whose perennial financial woes are a matter of public record, were still bold enough to offer Billiat an elevated salary to levels that could be the “highest across the league, by a significant margin”.
Billiat, reports say, could be available for the Harare giants’ season-opening Castle Challenge Cup tie against Ngezi Platinum Stars on February 24 at Baobab.
He will wear jersey number 12 at the Harare Giants.
“It’s almost done,” said a source privy to talks between Dembare and the star.
“If you recall well, Dynamos have previously tried to sound Billiat out but it has been all in vain.”
Meanwhile, his former Warriors teammate Kuda Mahachi, who also made a huge impression plying his trade for Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport in South Africa is also keen to join Dynamos.
He was recently released by Ghana Premiership side Medeama just five months into his 12-month contract and he is already back in the country.
With his former club Chicken Inn shutting the door in his face, the winger is understood to be in contact with key Dynamos officials who have okayed negotiations between him and the team.
Mahachi is rumoured to have principally agreed to get the same salary that the cur-rent highest earners on the team are taking home.
