Bafana Bafana goalie ‘should be made finance minister to save economy’

By Sports Reporter

South Africa national football team goalkeeper Ronwen Williams should be made his country’s finance minister to ‘save the economy’ after putting a spellbinding performance that saw him make four crucial saves during an AFCON quarter final penalty shootout against Cape Verde in Ivory Coast on Saturday, team-mate Grant Kekana joked.

Williams, who captains the squad, made four incredible saves to usher Bafana Bafana into the semi-final stage of the continental football showpiece.

The 32-year-old shot stopper also made a crucial save when he denied Cape Verde star Gilson Benchimol from close range moments into injury time at the end of 90 minutes.

“He is a world-class goalkeeper,” South Africa defender Grant Kekana said.

“I think he should be made the minister of finance – he can save South Africa’s economy.” Read full story form source.
