Notorious robber Musa Taj Abdul jailed 52 years

By Staff Reporter

Notorious armed robber Musa Taj Abdul and accomplices have each been handed 52-year jail sentences December conviction over 13 counts of armed robberies committed in Harare’s Borrowdale area.

Abdul and accomplices Charles Lundu and Sean Andile Dlamini will however serve 38 years effective each after part of their sentence was suspended on conditions of good behaviour and restitution.

They were given up to March this year to restitute the complainants.

Until their arrest, the trio had been on the police wanted list for 20 years.

In passing sentence, Harare magistrate Ignatius Mhene said he took into consideration that the three were unrepentant criminals who already had convictions.

Lundu and Abdul were already serving four-year prison sentences after they were found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Kelvin Munyimi prosecuted.
