Wheel dislodged from moving truck kills Chinhoyi doctor
30-year-old Tinotenda Madzima was walking on side of the road

A Chinhoyi medical doctor, Tinotenda Madzima died on Wednesday in highly unfortunate circumstances when he was struck as walked on the side of the road by a tyre which had accidentally dislodged from a moving haulage truck along the Chirundu-Harare highway.
The health professional, who was stationed at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital in Mashonaland West capital, died on the spot from the mishap.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reports a fatal road traffic accident involving a Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital Government Medical Officer, Dr Tinotenda Madzima (30) which occurred on 03 January 2024 at about 7AM at the 116 kilometre peg along Harare-Chirundu Road,” police said in a report posted on its X handle – formerly Twitter.
“The doctor was walking along the road when he was hit on the back by a wheel which had dislodged from a Scania haulage truck which was travelling towards Harare. The victim died on the spot,” police said.
The death of the medical doctor follows an almost similar incident which happened four days before in Marondera Traffic police Constable Mironga died after being struck by a truck wheel which has also accidentally dislodged from a moving truck along the Harare-Mutare highway.
