By Sports Reporter

Police dogs and a helicopter were deployed Wednesday to track down thieves who broke into Manchester City star Jack Grealish’s home and stole jewellery and watches worth US$1,2 million.

The incident happened at the same time the world-famous footballer was playing in his side’s 3-1 win against Everton in Liverpool.

Police were called to attend to a report of a burglary at Grealish’s home in Cheshire at about 9:50PM GMT on Wednesday.

Jewellery and watches worth £1m were stolen, according to The Sun newspaper.

A search was carried out, supported by police dogs and a helicopter, but police could not find any suspects.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police added: “No arrests have been made at this time and inquiries are ongoing.”

City’s manager Pep Guardiola told a pre-match press conference earlier Grealish’s family had been at home at the time.

“It was a bad moment for him and his family,” he said, adding nobody was hurt.

The incident followed another burglary targeting Kevin De Bruyne, another Manchester City star whose Belgium home was ransacked by thieves last week as he was away in Saudi Arabia to win the FIFA Club World Cup.
